Citronella Essential Oil

Oil of Citronella is used on humans and their clothing to repel insects. It is also used in recreational areas, outdoor household areas, and around trees and shrubs. Animal collars and tags containing citronella are used on pets and other domestic animals to repel fleas and ticks.

The extraction method of citronella essential oil is by steam distillation of the grass. The essential oil is clear in color.

Citronella targets insects such as mosquitoes, black flies, fleas and ticks.  It is one of the ingredients used in Green Pergola's Hiker's Soap, a soap used for a natural insect repellent.  Our Hiker's soap has shown wonderful results with everyone from mountain men, campers and soccer mom's who have their children bath in it during the summer.  To date, we have never had a single customer report that our Hiker's Soap didn't work --- it has only received rave reviews.

INTERESTING FACTS:  Citronella is closely related to lemongrass, as well as Palmarosa.
