HIKERS CAMPERS SOAP - MOSQUITO SOAP ABOUT THE SOAP
We've taken four different essential oils that work well at keeping
bugs away. Every knows about citronella and most everyone has
had a citronella candle on their porch. Cedarwood shavings are
often used in dog bedding because insects don't like it. Lemon
Eucalyptus oil is known to be an excellent, natural replacement for
DEET. Lavender plants never need insecticides because bugs
naturally stay away from them. Mix all four of these oils
together and you've got a soap that keeps mosquitoes and ticks away.
TIP: some customers are worried
about smelling like Citronella. While that may the case when
it comes to using sprays - when you bath with the hikers soap, only
a faint lemon smell remains on the skin.
THE SOAP STORY
Back around 2003, a friend asked us to create a product that would
help her son. He liked to go camping but would come home covered
with bug bites because commercial products didn't work for him.
After a month of research, we came up with the first bar of Hikers
and Campers soap. Her son came back from his next trip bite
free. The next summer, we got a chance to try it out for
ourselves when we spent five days camping at a planned community.
There may have been mosquitoes flying all around the tent but none
of them ever bit us. We even washed our hair with it the
entire time we were there. Now, everytime we use the hikers
soap we're reminded of that camping trip and all the great people we
met at the commune.
Moms also love buying the hikers soap
for their kids. They can play in the yard without being
bothered by bugs and the parents feel better for not having bought a
chemical spray.
