ABOUT THE SOAP
The lemongrass is the main scent you get in this soap.  But the clary sage (not to be confused with cooking sage) gives it a nice green "bite" to the smell.  Finely sifted lemongrass herb added. Bright golden yellow color.  Equal fav for men and women. The lemongrass sage soap has been one of our top 5 sellers for almost ten years.

THE SOAP STORY
The lemongrass sage soap was partly based on a recipe given to me by another soap maker.  Although, she wouldn't tell me the exact ratio for lemongrass against the clary sage.  With a little experimentation, we came up with a really great smelling soap!

Lemongrass (scientific name: Cymbopogon ciatrus) is one of those wondrous herbs that one can always associate with Asian cooking Thai, Malaysian and Vietnamese homegrown meal enthusiasts always have this tropical grass at hand for its aromatic citrus flavor with a trace of ginger. Few people know that its other popular name is citronella - the common scent you usually find in candles, perfumes and soaps.

MORE ABOUT CLARY SAGE
Clary Sage essential oil is used in aromatherapy in preference to Sage (Salvia officinalis). Regular sage presents a toxicity risk due to its high levels of thujone in the oil. Clary Sage makes a wonderful substitute while still having some of the same good benefits of Sage.

Clary Sage has also been called the "woman's helper" and is good for easing the pain of menstrual cramps and, due to its mimic of hormones, often aids in the problems that arise during menopause.

Essential oil of clary sage has many emotional benefits. It is said to work on: depression, nervous tension, panic attacks, migraines, stress and fear. Taking into consideration the emotional benefits, it also works well on PMS.
